FatRedCouch Brings to Life Inventors and Innovators Stirring Up Fun for Kids

Marin County, California – (November 10, 2015) Thomas Edison is the man most noted for giving the world light but with the launch of Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab App Bay Area Based FatRedCouch will open up a world of invention for kids everywhere. Supporting the recent launch of the television series by Genius Brands, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab app, available for download on iTunes and the Google Play Store, invites kids to join in on interactive explorations with some of our greatest inventors.

Kids enter the app and are greeted by a holographic version of Edison and Von Bolt, a nearly completed robot he created to guide and inspire future generations of young scientists. The adventures are led by Angie, a 12-year old prodigy whom cracked the secret coded message that Edison left behind; kids join her science club and learn about inventors and inventions, play games and create holograms.

The app explodes with discoverables offering “aha!” moments throughout the experience: clouds turn into objects; the Observation Telescope shoots Kaflooey Splats; and inventors come to life as holograms.

The Secret Lab! Play with interactive laboratory equipment and then discover amazing science experiments and projects kids can do at home.

The Library – An interactive animated gallery where kids can learn about the discoveries, inventions, and biographies of famous Scientists and Inventors.

Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab also includes an arcade with three games featuring key characters from the show and app.

Honey Bee Spree – Join the Secret Lab Kids as they help their bee friend pollinate flowers.

Kafloooey Ka-Splat – Crank up the kaloogalator to splat the Secret Lab Kids with Kafloooey!

Von Bolt’s Circuit Switch – A flip-tastic challenge where kids connect the circuits to energize the light bulbs.

HoloCenter – Meet the Secret Lab Gang and preview 3D HoloCards for each cast member.

 Additionally, unwind from the fun and games in the Theater where kids will enjoy six music videos and six episode clips starring Thomas Edison and the Secret Lab kids.

Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab series and app are supported with an in-restaurant program through Ovation restaurants utilizing activity-filled placemats and table tents featuring characters and experiments families can enjoy at the table.

The inventive mix of comical adventures and stories with interactive play is the result of a thoughtful collaboration between noted children’s entertainment company Genius Brands and digital-with-a-twist app developer and publisher FatRedCouch.

FatRedCouch will release the Collector’s pack of Hologram cards featuring characters from the app, inventors, and scientists in the future.

The Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab television show can be viewed in the United States on select PBS stations through American Public Television, Netflix and the all-new Kid Genius channel on Comcast Xfinity. In December 2015, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab makes its debut on DVD.
